Queen of the sun...

...What are the bees telling us? This looks and sounds like an interesting documentary. After a full on week I'm collapsing with the boys and a few good books - back tomorrow with what:nots.
ps: Loved Pippa Middleton's dress!

Sometimes you...

...just have to turn things up really LOUD. And this is the perfect song for it!

Blow up...

Love how W supersized 18th and 19th century portraits to fill the walls of England's Glemham Hall. You can see more images here.

Lest we forget...

Weekly what:nots...

Phew! I've been meaning to pop these up since this morning, but I keep getting sidetracked...I'm still unpacking boxes (we seem to have an awful lot of books, and a distinct lack of shelving). I hope you've had a lovely week, and that Easter has treated you well. And before I get sidetracked by more boxes, here's what:nots...
Ethereal black and white from The Ones 2 Watch.

'Soji' wooden pieces from Japanese design studio Mute.

Sandra Backlund's exquisitely sculptural clothing.

Sea Change - poems by Jorie Graham. Beautiful.

Ten Thousand Things' Double Grass Blade Ring.

Ceramic jugs by Nicola Tassie.

Jenny Odell's very cool Satellite Collection - created by collaging images from Google satellite. Hope over here to see more. Found via The Five Senses.

Blindsight...

It was with disbelief and great sadness that I heard photographer Tim Hetherington had been killed in Libya. His photography and film work is both beautiful and heart-wrenching, but most importantly it provided a raw and unflinchingly honest insight into many social and political issues worldwide.

This collaboration between Yo-Yo Ma and Lil Buck is amazing. Sublime music and incredible dancing.

Mr Magpie...

A rather endearing Mr Magpie from Sydney based artist Anna-Wili Highfield. Hop over here to see more of Anna's wonderful paper sculptures.

Weekly what:nots...

How has your week been? Thanks for hanging in there in my absence! I'm still striving to achieve the sense of calm in this image. And with our things from New Zealand arriving next week I think it may be a while. The new place is great though - it has a really lovely feel to it, and given that it is four times the size of our last place we have oodles of space. Mind you trying to round up two dreamy eleven-year-olds on school mornings has proved a challenge, but I figure all the running up and down flights of stairs is good for one's fitness. Anyhoo I hope all is well in your neck of the woods and the past week has been kind to you.
Love this image of Phoebe Philo from The Trend Report.

Sky Flower, 2003 by Nobuyoshi Araki - a wall montage of a 1000 polaroids.

Looking forward to reading the latest issue of The Gentlewoman.

Utterly lovely colours in Cave by Michelle Armas. Discovered via Joslyn of Simple Lovely.

Scosha & Co's tan bracelet.

A perfectly mis-matched set of frames, not to mention that plant pot.

Fauno from local chocolatier Cocanú - yum!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Discombobulation...

Goodness me - I'd forgotten just how disorientating moving can be! I swear I keep going around in circles, shifting things from here, to there, and back again. Confusion and chaos aside our new place is just wonderful - light, airy, loads of space, and a garden with vegetable boxes! Now I just need to get myself into a slightly less disorganised state....
I hope your week is going smoothly...I should be back by the end of the week - see you then.
