Our apartment...

Our new couch (sofa, sectional, ... call it what you will) was delivered yesterday. I'm beyond excited - is that bad? It is super spacious and we can all snuggle up on it, or spread out as we like - perfect. I've come to love our apartment, and although I still miss our home and the sea, the glorious changing view we have more than makes up for it. The sky seems to stretch on and on past the mountains and beyond - bliss! As with any rental there's some decor 'approaches' that we'd totally redo if we were the owner, but with a bit this and a bit of that we are slowly making it a home. We just need a few things like -

Some great shelves for little bits and bobs.

Some fab chairs like this one.

A lovely sideboard like this one.

And a way to hang pictures without making holes :)

Mind you this doesn't stop me imagining what I would do if I was the owner....

Hmmm....

A dark bedroom with light floors, or ...

... a light bedroom with dark floors. Hard to decide - what do you think?

Tardy, tardy, tardy...

We've been busy with this'n that and the days just seem to get sucked up and disappear. And this week Turtle & Mu have Friday off, so to all intents and purposes tomorrow is our Friday. The good thing about this though is we get a three-day weekend - hooray! And in other exciting news our new chairs arrived this morning and we are rather pleased. Next on the list is the sofa.... So while we're on interiors and the like here are some inspiring images.

I love this 'Wall of Curiosities' in Kevin O'Shea's NY apartment.

A simple, and pretty way to store things.

The perfect solution for a desk in the lounge. Not too big and not too small.

Fabulous shelves found here.

Simple and elegant seen here.

And how can one mention interiors and not mention Lonny!

Lovely interiors...

I'm just loving this image from Anna Spiro's home! Anna is the author of the gorgeous Absolutely Beautiful Things, you can read more about Anna here. While we're on interiors I thought I'd share some images from Elle Decor March 2009.

Haute bohemia meets 1920's in interior designer Kristen Buckingham's LA home.

Artist Anne Becker's office in her New York apartment featuring a framed antique ikat textile.

A simple and welcoming kitchen in Bret Ratner's LA house.
And to end with a painting by the incredibly talented (and Portland, OR based) artist Flora S. Bowley.

Inspiring interiors...better late than.....

Oh dear I realised that I promised some inspiring interiors and I'm a day behind. So to make amends here's some lovely inspiration from James Merrell..... I just love the casualness of the snapshots above the mantle.

And don't you just love the light fixtures in this dining room.

What about these fig branches in John Derian's living room?

I just love these displays of art, photos, and keepsakes.

And for an absolutely gorgeous and inspiring office check out Tamara Mellon's home office - with a great Andy Warhol print of Grace Kelly.

A lovely apartment...

Look at this lovely apartment belonging to designer Michelle Adams of the gorgeous Rubie Green.

I just love the way books are turned so you can see their covers. Don't you just love the cover of Painting People by Charlotte Mullins.

Michelle is one part of the duo Lonny a photography/styling duo. This fab pic of these fab yellow shoes is on their site.

And watch this space. Michelle and Patrick Cline (her business partner) have rounded up some fabulous editors, designers, artists, bloggers and friends, and in September, 2009 will be launching the premiere issue of an online decorating and lifestyle magazine called Lonny. I can't wait - it's rumoured to fill the void left by Domino!

A great room...

It's been weeks - I have so much to share. Here's the most gorgeous house I found the for sale section of the newspaper. Just love that chandelier!
I have more to show and hope to get it up this evening..... All going according to plan.
