Weekly what:nots...

At long last here's last weeks what:nots.

When it comes to cups I tend to agree with the designers at Isak who believe putting a handle on a cup spoils it's aesthetic. A cup should be 'cupped' they say. I couldn't agree more. Isak also make quite a few other lovely things like this poster. Aren't these clothes by United Bamboo so simple and elegant. the blouses and dresses by .

Eons ago I fell in love with this Yves Saint Laurent ring. Imagine my delight when I saw this Polly Wreford image.

This casual french twist is super pretty and elegant.

I adore the simple elegance of Garance Dore's illustrations.

And I'm loving these slouchy pants by Bassike.

Late, late, later...

...so much later than I had planned or imagined. A few rather horrendous days full of busy, busy crazy-ness. Am back on top of things for now and thrilled to find time for Elsa M at last. Weekly what:nots coming up tomorrow - promise, but in the meantime let's look at stationery and the like....

I'm quite taken by these sweet pocket books from Lovely Design - each page has different paper.

Blue Pool Road make the most gorgeous range of lovely things, and have an equally wonderful blog.

I'm always impressed by the pretty ways things can be packaged.

I know - it's not strictly stationery but a very pretty illustration all the same.

While we're on illustrations - I just love Oliver Jeffers illustrations and books.

And to finish with a little letterpress book entitled How Birds Sing.

Rushing around...

Feeling very much like a chicken without a head. I promise to post weekly what:nots tomorrow - if not before - hope you're having a fun weekend! Loving the zebra...and the dress...and the hair...and the rest!

It's all go....

We have found somewhere to live in Portland - hooray! And we have also found tenants for our home here in the little city - hooray, hooray! And R is home tomorrow, so it's all go. Only 14 and a bit days to go. On an entirely different note - love this letterpress print, and adore this wee pewter salt n' pepper set.

In today's post...

My new Poketo 'Notefolio' arrived today. I'm in love with it - a portfolio and a notebook all rolled into one - perfect for all those little bits and bobs I seem to collect. If you'd like one they're available here. Hope you're having a lovely day.

Not even the rain has such small hands....

Have you seen The Darjeeling Limited? I finally saw it last night and totally loved it. India looked amazing - and as for the Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton luggage - hilarious!

An excerpt from one of my favourite E. E. Cummings poems Somewhen I have never travelled, gladly beyond. You can read the full text here. Enjoy!

...(i do not know what

it is about you that closes

and opens; only

something in me understands

the voice of your

eyes is deeper than all roses)

nobody, not even the

rain, has such small hands.

Lovely artwork...

In my weekend wanderings online I came across Heather Smith Jones lovely blog, and her delicate artwork. Heather has a store, and a website. Enjoy!

Sleeves, sleeves, and no sleeves...

Goodness - yesterday I had a rather rough ride and I must say I'm a little creaky this morning. Once again we are three - R is in Fiordland shooting (the camera kind, not the other kind). So the boys and I are pottering about and being rather lazy, lazy. Here's a little sleeve action to keep things ticking along. Have a fun weekend!

I just love the sleeves on this Hunkydory Baggy Cardigan. (psst. it's on sale)

And the sleeves on Olivia Palermo's dress.

And as for this Dagmar Luciana dress - perfect!

Weekly what:nots...

How was your week? Ours was rather chaotic but we have managed to get loads sorted for the big move. And tomorrow we hopefully will have news about where we're staying in Portland. Fingers crossed, and toes too just in case. On to what:nots from the week...

Stella McCartney for Adidas. So workable, fashionable and so comfortable.
Huia silkscreen artwork by the talented Hayley King.

A small turquoise McCoy bowl from here.

An eel-skin foldover clutch from Pratten.

Amber Valletta in Harper's Bazaar sans makeup.

An adorable candle from Voluspa.

OK so this is a little 'out there' - but I have to confess I really like the bouncy song, the 70's vibe of the roller skates + stripey knee-high socks . And the Bonds underwear is pretty cute.

Inspiring interiors...

Lynda Gardner's The White House. And the best bit - you can rent out the house!

This dining area, and lamp from Emily Anderson's house.

Jenna Lyons' kitchen and...well pretty much the whole house. In fact all the interiors shot by Kim Ficaro are swoon-worthy.

I love this side table and everything on it, especially the fig branches.

Jessie Randall of Loeffler Randall's living area.

And I just love this kitchen in this London home (via Bliss).
