Sunlight...
Thank you so much for your sweet comments - they very much helped, and today is indeed a new day. Springlike sunlight is starting to appear, and with it the promise of warmer days ahead.

Lines written in early spring...
I heard a thousand blended notes,
While in a grove I sate reclined,
In that sweet mood when pleasant thoughts
Bring sad thoughts to the mind.
To her fair works did Nature link
The human soul that through me ran;
And much it grieved my heart to think
What man has made of man.
Through primrose tufts, in that green bower,
The periwinkle trailed its wreaths;
And 'tis my faith that every flower
Enjoys the air it breathes.
The birds around me hopped and played,
Their thoughts I cannot measure:--
But the least motion which they made
It seemed a thrill of pleasure.
The budding twigs spread out their fan,
To catch the breezy air;
And I must think, do all I can,
That there was pleasure there.
If this belief from heaven be sent,
If such be Nature's holy plan,
Have I not reason to lament
What man has made of man?

Monday, Monday...
A quiet day spent catching up on the weekend. My hyacinth bulbs have finally dried out and become ugly and beautiful at the same time. And the first sign of a distant spring - my daphne have just started to bloom...

Back home
We're back from the most amazing trip!
Five weeks in the States - Portland Oregon (to be exact) with a few side trips. It's so good to be home and once again surrounded by our bits and pieces. Here's a random selection of images from our trip.....

A wind swept northern Californian coast...
An old school bus nestled amongst blossom on the Redwood Highway
A beauty from the de Young Museum in San Francisco
Turtle & Mu investigating fake poo at the Oregon Zoo - boys!
Chinatown San Francisco - so many things to explore...
Wouldn't you love this as your entrance? We stayed near Nob Hill / Russian Hill in San Fran. I spent many a morning wandering past the most beautiful front gates and doors.
We arrived in Portland at the same time as Spring - there was blossom everywhere....
We saw and did so much - a lot seems a distant memory. Changes could be afoot for us - watch this space....
