What:nots...

Phew! The past week has been a whirlwind of pre-Christmas chaos planning. I honestly have made more batches of cookies, fudge, and ginger slice than is good for one's psyche. How has the past week been for you? I hope you've a stellar Christmas planned. Our trip home is looking like a whirlwind of friends and family, but a nice kind of whirlwind if there is such a thing. Have a lovely weekend, and safe travels if you're heading beyond your front door.
I have a serious girl-crush on Miranda Brooks.

Winston Churchill's wise words found here.

Love Helena Rohner's ceramic + stone rings.

Fete - issue 5 is a cornucopia of goodness.

An elegant travel case (via wit + delight).

Richmond Park - complete with wild deer.

And I've pretty much had these guys on repeat this past week...

A small interlude...

I hope your week is trucking along nicely, and that the days ahead are looking bright and sunny (literally and/or figuratively). I shall be taking a break from regular posting for a wee while, but I will still be pootling around the blogosphere visiting you all, and of course pinning now and then. I might even squeeze in a post here and there...we'll just have to see. And given I hope to spend a fair amount of time in my garden, I thought this would be a nice image to leave you with...for now.

What:nots...

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is tootling along nicely, and that the past week was a good one. With R now in New Zealand, we are plodding along as three. After a so-so start to the year, February is turning out to be a much better month. Among other things, my aim to make time to read more this year is paying off. Funny how time to read can often feel like a luxury in these harried times. Do you find (or make) the time to read regularly? I'm interested...
Pretty kimono, top knot + image found here.

Wise words from John Wooden.

Very much taken by this Hoshi pot stand.

Much to like about this Winter 2012 collection.

Kontex's wonderfully soft organic cotton towels.

Thanks to this my obsession with large country estates continues.
More kitchen goodness from Japan - Noda Horo's teapot.

Weekly what:nots...

Happy Tuesday eve! Things have been busy around here, and somewhat fraught, but as they say tomorrow is another day. Thank you for stopping by, and especially for your sweet comments - they really do make my day! I hope you're having a good week and that everything is well in your neck of the woods. The not so great stuff aside, we are gearing up for Christmas (only 11 sleeps to go), and have planned a wee jaunt to the east coast (we leave Christmas night!). Do you have holiday plans? Are you travelling, expecting visitors, or staying home...? I hope the remainder of the week is kind to you...here's a rather tardy what:nots.
Lovely light in this quiet image.

Weekly what:nots...

Goodness suddenly the summer hols seem to be fading fast. I hope you've all had a fab week, ours has been filled with lots of sunshine and balmy evenings, BBQs and fruit picking, riding and bush walks, and lots of doing not-very-much-at-all - here's a rag-tag what:nots for the week.
Love this image and love the freckles.

Hadieh Shafie's Ketabs/Scroll Works are incredible.
If you head over to Hadieh's site you can see them up close.

Still hankering after Vincent van Duysen's ceramic pieces.

Beautiful blowsy peonies.
