What:nots...

Hello there. Here we are at the start of a short week. With R still away the boys and I have pootled our way through the weekend in the laziest way possible...breakfasting at midday, and mooching about in our jim-jams. Our week ahead is packed full, and come the weekend the boys and I will be off on an adventure...
This image makes me hanker for sunshine - please Portland be sunny.

Love this stylish, yet comfy looking tunic from Worthwhile.

Can't wait for 101 Cookbooks' soon to pop-up shop Quitokeeto.

Pretty suede hats found here.

Wendy Nichol's brass bead and leather necklace.

Rachel Castle's print perfectly perched in Heidi Middleton's house.

Pratten's croc-effect wallet in tangerine.

Oil on canvas by Hans Heysen.

I was planning to post this Francoise Hardy song, but opted for this rather sweet Marianne Faithfull song instead.

Weekly what:nots...

Yippee it's Friday! I hope your week went well - ours was the usual blur of activities. What are you up to for the weekend? The boys and I are madly getting organised for their school camp, plus we are helping a friend plant out garden beds on Sunday (perfectly coinciding with 350.org's 10/10/10). I hope you have fun in your neck of the woods - here's what:nots for the week...
I have to admit I am somewhat obsessed by Patric Shaw's black + white images.
Yennie's lovely The Bear is the Forest illustration, inspired by Finnish folklore.
Loving Dsquared²'s Spring 2011 collection.
The timeless Regent Clutch from Asprey (just don't look at the price!)
Judith Binney's wonderful book on Te Urewera. The Ureweras are one of New Zealand's most mystical and unspoilt areas.
A fab eel skin cuff from Pratten.
J Crew's downtown skinny jeans - the most flattering and comfortable jeans yet. Seriously these are the.best.thing!
Love Miss B's Ocean Diamonds (via Elephantine).
The sweetest owl card by Sanna Annukka found on My Owl Barn.
And a lovely country drive-way I've had tucked away for years (I think it may been from Vogue Living...)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Weekly what:nots...

How's your week been? I hope you've had a good one! Ours has been filled school runs, craft classes, swimming, piano lessons, an absent husband, dinner with girlfriends, children with colds, horse riding, lunches out, Spanish lessons, overdue DVDs, the list seems to go on! Fortunately the weekend is looking very quiet. Although I do plan to head over here and have a good poke about. Before I launch into what:nots I want thank you all for your lovely comments. I love reading them, and am very humbled that you take the time to visit Elsa May. I hope you have a really lovely weekend - here's this week's what:nots...
Soft blue layered tank found here.
Lovely palette on this inspiration wall from Skona Hem (via Haus Maus - I think...from memory...please let me know if I'm wrong).
Uber-modern white Chloe one-piece. Don't you think it looks kind of comfy to wear?
Love this top from Aubin & Wills. Perfect with jeans, shorts, pants, swimwear....
A lovely collection of treasures from Frank Features.

A graceful illustration by Cecilia Carlstedt.

Weekly what:nots...

How was your week? Ours was rather chaotic but we have managed to get loads sorted for the big move. And tomorrow we hopefully will have news about where we're staying in Portland. Fingers crossed, and toes too just in case. On to what:nots from the week...

Stella McCartney for Adidas. So workable, fashionable and so comfortable.
Huia silkscreen artwork by the talented Hayley King.

A small turquoise McCoy bowl from here.

An eel-skin foldover clutch from Pratten.

Amber Valletta in Harper's Bazaar sans makeup.

An adorable candle from Voluspa.

OK so this is a little 'out there' - but I have to confess I really like the bouncy song, the 70's vibe of the roller skates + stripey knee-high socks . And the Bonds underwear is pretty cute.
