What:nots...

I hope all is well in your corner of the world. After a very slow start to the year, and an even slower reintegration to Portland and our day to day life, things have picked up and it's been busy. Really busy! Hopefully, by the time this weekend rolls around things will be back to the slowness of the hols...or at least partly back to that pace. Happy Tuesday!

The beautiful Barbra Streisand.

What:nots...

Happy Monday eve! I hope your week is off to a stellar start. Spring is slowing springing here in Portland - fingers and toes crossed it continues. Two things have touched a cord with me this past week - the first this article in the NY Times. And the second was this moving video (thank you Lisa). It got me thinking about age and how we see ourselves, how there is still so much life to be lived. Could it be that perhaps the best years are to come, that the later years are the ones where one feels completely at ease with oneself and where one fits in life... The more I think of this, the more I like it... Have a lovely week. Annie x

Seriously coveting one of these.

What:nots...

Another weekend almost over - how was yours? I hope it was jolly. The boys and I managed to potter about, and tick a few things off our to do lists. We're now counting down the days until we head off on a wee trip to New Zealand in just under a fortnight. I hope the week ahead is kind to you, and thanks ever so much for stopping by - I love getting your comments!
Loving the Peter Lindbergh photography in Joseph's FW11.12 campaign.

Le chat by Flora Douville.

Humanoid's new collection - especially this 'Jumper' tunic.

Silhouettes from HAM.

Primrose Hill Picnic - such a pretty colour + name.

My duffle coat obsession continues, helped by this beauty from Gloverall.

Stylish, and clever packaging for Himalayan water.

Weekly what:nots...

I hope you've had a good week. Ours has been busy, so I am very much looking forward to a quiet weekend. Portland was awash in mist this morning, and is feeling very autumnal - perfect for a lazy morning followed by a walk in the forest, and some hot chocolate to finish. Have a wonderful weekend.
Such a beautiful image found on b for bonnie.

Miles of Light's Pepper Sprouts.

Sweet charms from Anthropologie (found via Aubrey Road).

Quite taken by Humanoid's Edna blouse.

This Cy Twombly book is tippy-top of my wish list.

Carrière Frères Industrie wax candles - wonderful scents and beautiful illustrations.
Titio with scents of smoked grass and cinder would have to be my favourite.

And a rather captivating image of the road from Ambleside to Kirkstone

Weekly what:nots...

Hmmm...I'm thinking that this should just be simply called what:nots, due to my inability to post it in a timely manner. The pleasant day to day happenings of life seem to fill in the days at present, and when I do venture near the internet I get sidetracked on all manner of things... I do hope you had a pleasant weekend. Ours was a cosy early autumn indoors-y one - which reminds me I must order the firewood. Have a wonderful week!
Beautiful light in this image.

A wonderful Sufi saying.

Quite enamoured with the thought of lush green borders.

A simple little container from Fleet Objects.

These plates are fuelling my obsession with all things wooden.

Love this Humanoid wrap dress - utterly timeless.

Am quite taken by this little chap (albeit slightly freaked out by the taxidermy idea).

And Anthropologie's lovely leather bound journal.

Weekly what:nots...

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is treating you well. Portland is ablaze with sun - such a treat after weeks of endless rain. Hopefully the sun is shining where ever you are - I'm off to investigate options for our vegetable boxes. Have a wonderful day!

Weekly what:nots...

How has your week been? Thanks for hanging in there in my absence! I'm still striving to achieve the sense of calm in this image. And with our things from New Zealand arriving next week I think it may be a while. The new place is great though - it has a really lovely feel to it, and given that it is four times the size of our last place we have oodles of space. Mind you trying to round up two dreamy eleven-year-olds on school mornings has proved a challenge, but I figure all the running up and down flights of stairs is good for one's fitness. Anyhoo I hope all is well in your neck of the woods and the past week has been kind to you.
Love this image of Phoebe Philo from The Trend Report.

Sky Flower, 2003 by Nobuyoshi Araki - a wall montage of a 1000 polaroids.

Looking forward to reading the latest issue of The Gentlewoman.

Utterly lovely colours in Cave by Michelle Armas. Discovered via Joslyn of Simple Lovely.

Scosha & Co's tan bracelet.

Have a wonderful weekend.
