I hope you've had a good week. Ours has been busy, so I am very much looking forward to a quiet weekend. Portland was awash in mist this morning, and is feeling very autumnal - perfect for a lazy morning followed by a walk in the forest, and some hot chocolate to finish. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hello week...

Goodness what happened to Monday? It completely disappeared in a whirl of this'n that. In between the usual post-weekend sorting out yesterday I managed to meet up with the lovely Lisa Golightly. I think that is one of the nicest things about blogging - the chance to meet and connect with people like Lisa - a little virtual community of like mindedness. I hope your week is off to a lovely start.

Weekend doings...

Our weekend swung by in the most relaxed way. The Vogel 50x50 collection was great, as was the rest of the Museum. We dined en famille at Lincoln on Saturday, and discovered the niftiest little vintage shop Lodekka - in a double decker bus no less. The boys and I received a dusting of snow en route to school this morning, but alas that's all it was. Today was full of middle school visits, helping the boys' class cook for their international Thanksgiving feast, and general reordering of the house post-weekend - roll on Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start.

Hello week...

Things seem to be puttering along nicely...our weekend was a perfect mix of this'n that. R and I watched the sobering documentary The Two Escobars. Speaking of sobering, a wee while back we watched No End in Sight - both are well worth watching. In between pottering about, I had time to catch up on lots of reading, listened to a couple of great interviews from here, rearranged the furniture and organised my desk, dragged the rowdies on a coffee + shopping expedition with a dear friend, and attended Little Winter Market. Home with me came several items of loveliness including the one of Herriot Grace's teeny wee salt bowls. I do however regret leaving these beautiful socks behind....especially with the cooler weather upon us. Anyhoo I'm off to make soup and sort out the disaster zone that is Mu's room. I hope your week is of to a great start!

And it rained...

...and rained, and rained. This meant the boys and I perfected our cocooning routine, which among other things meant staying indoors, and eating lots of comfort food (ie. apple pie and ice cream). I also spent way too much time on tumblr and pinterest...so to balance things out I'm off to enjoy the crisp autumn sunshine. I hope your week is off to a good start!

This is the first weekend in ages where we've had nothing scheduled, and we've all been home. So I'm making the most of lazy days enjoying the last of the summer sun, hanging out with the boys, and perfecting the art of doing not-very-much-at-all. Hello Saturday! I hope you're having a grand time in your neck of the woods, and that the past week has been good to you. Ours flew by with the boys at sewing camp, dinners out, movies, horse riding, walks in the park, and so on. I also found time to fiddle with Pinterest and tumblr. Do you use Pinterest? Isn't it the most brilliant invention? What are your weekend plans? We're planning to head out and explore the northern Oregon coast, watch movies, potter about, eat pancakes, and finalise our uber-exciting summer travel plans for later this month. I'll tell you more on Monday once everything's set in stone....until then, here's this week's what:nots.

A perfect weekend...

We just had the most perfect weekend. Our planned trip to the coast didn't eventuate, even still we had the best time. We headed up to Sauvie Island and went berry picking, watched movies (this was brilliant), dined alfresco (I'm loving this summery weather), walked in the park, went bike riding, and now it's Tuesday! What with errands, work, taking the boys to the movies, and what-have-you, yesterday just flew by. I hope you had a great weekend, and your week is off to a good start. The boys have a sewing-camp this morning, so I'm hoping to find the time to sit down with a cup of tea and catch up on some blog reading!

Hello week...

How was your weekend? Did you have fun? Ours started off really well and then descended into non-stop squabbles between the boys. Goodness me I was glad to ship them off to OMSI Camp this morning, I tell you! R arrives home tonight after a hugely successful race, and a whirlwind trip to NYC for work. With the boys off at camp all week I'm looking forward to some me time and catching up with friends. What are your plans? Oh I've also started pottering about with 'inspiration boards' on tumblr, but am now considering Pinterest - what are you thoughts? Do you use either, which do you find best? I'd love to know...

Hello week...

How was your weekend? Ours was sublime with utterly perfect summer weather. Thanks to a nice young man at the Apple Store my laptop, and mouse are now working properly. Technology don't you love it when it works, and condemn it when it doesn't! The boys and I are once again "just-three" with R currently somewhere in southern Colorado taking part in this! Seriously why drive or fly when you can cycle? Madness I say, but if one is going to have a vice....well let's just say it could be a lot worse. Right best get on. We have the end of year class picnic this evening, and I need to prepare our contribution. A task fraught with stress due to real (or perceived) Mummy-one-upmanship over what your contribution says about your home life and your overall approach to child-rearing ;) I hope your week is off a to a grand start. Have fun!
ps: one of my all-time favourite things is sunlight glistening on water. It gives me such a feeling of inner-peace-and-joy. To me it is perfection.

Sunshine at last...

How was your weekend? I hope you had a grand old time and that the sun shone. Don't you find sunny weather gives you 'spring-in-you-step' kind of lift? Our weekend was great, we dined out here, and the boys' camp-out was a great success. And now with school finishing up for the year, R going away (again) on Friday, picnics, evenings out, and a whole-lotta summer travel and activities to plan, this week is looking rather hectic. I'll do my best to post regularly, but things may be a bit sporadic. I hope you have a lovely week!

Hello there - how has your week been? Ours has been busy, two very excited boys left this morning for their end of year school sleep over. Let's hope it stays dry! Portland has been shrouded in grey, grey cloud and rain for yet another week, and to be honest I'm really over it. How was your week? I hope it was just dandy. Mine was pretty abysmal and ended with another car slamming into the back of mine yesterday. Thankfully no one was hurt, but it felt like the 'perfect' end to a perfectly bad week. So long exhale, it's now the weekend, and I'm about to take the two rowdies to the pool.
