Weekly what:nots...

I hope you're weekend is pottering along at a nice pace. After a lazy start, followed by R's pancakes, yesterday progressed at a perfectly suitable pace for a Saturday. In fact, the past week pretty much progressed at a similar pace which was rather nice. In amongst the boys' almost back-to-back viewing of the Harry Potter series (!?), we took in Inside Job - fascinating viewing. And today's rather slow start, coupled with intermittent continuous downpours means it looks just as likely to progress as the past week has - perfect really. I hope the last week was just as nice for you. Monday, monday...

I hope your week is off to a good start - after oversleeping by an hour (major alarm failure!) I'm almost back on track...almost. So in an attempt to soothe my frayed nerves I've been poking about online art galleries, and found these wonderful pieces by Natchez Hudson. Pain Killers 2007

In his exhibition Running the Numbers, Seattle photographer Chris Jordan looks at contemporary American culture through the austere lens of statistics. With each image portraying a specific quantity of something: fifteen million sheets of office paper (five minutes of paper use); 106,000 aluminium cans (thirty seconds of can consumption) Running the Numbers provides a starkly sobering view of modern consumerism. Hop on over here for more details and the ability to zoom into each image.

Hello - how was your weekend? I do hope it was lovely. Our excursion to the snow was fun, albeit rather chilly. As for the past week - like so many New Zealanders seeing the devastation and loss in Christchurch has been incredibly hard and terribly distressing. But what I do know, is that despite the utterly devastating sadness and loss, New Zealand and Christchurch will endure and get through these dreadful times. Wishing you all a safe week ahead...

Perhaps this could be entitled procrastination....instead of loading up what:nots I've repotted my hyacinths, spent far too much time on pinterest and tumblr, muddled through endless emails, and done a fair bit of gazing into space. Not overly productive but it is Saturday I suppose. Anyhoo I hope the past week has been kind... there seems to have been a pervasive air of melancholy about... let's hope the week ahead is better.
