What:nots...
Happy Friday! Things have started to get busy in the lead up to end of the year. Do you ever feel like it starts earlier and earlier each year....? Our weekends are filling up fast and it's only October - hopefully things are quieter in your neck of the woods. We have a bit of exciting news about the year ahead - more on that in a week or two. In the meantime here's what:nots - have a wonderful weekend!
A quiet moment found on rose & crown.

What:nots...
Hello there. I hope your weekend is pottering along nicely. After a whirlwind start to the school year, we seem to have settled into a nice, steady rhythm. Here's to a settled and (hopefully) sunny week ahead!

Right now...
...I wouldn't mind being here. I highly recommend clicking through to Nour El Nil's site and having a peek at their beautiful sailing boats for a wee bit of virtual escapism.

What:nots...
And just like that the weekend has ended, and along with it the summer holidays. School starts tomorrow, R has left for Tokyo, and come Wednesday the boys head off on a 10 day school camp. So hopefully, with the house completely empty, I might get back to some kind of regular blogging...but I do have a wee trip to New York planned this weekend, so things might be sporadic for a while yet. In the meantime here's a very, very tardy what:nots.
I like the blurry softness of this image.
Leonard da Vinci on vitality and beauty.
Lovely silk cami from Juliette Hogan.
Bodha's wonderful range of natural yoga clothing.
A wonderful quote from Carrie Jacobs Bond.
Vija Celmins' extraordinary graphite artworks.
and Onitsuka Tiger 'Mexico 66' slip-on sneakers.
Have great week!

What:nots...
Happy Monday eve! Thanks for hanging in there in my absence - my blurgy cold has been laid to rest, and I am slowly getting back on top of what seems like a rather long to-do list. School starts in a few weeks, there's packing up all our belongings and shipping them home to think about, a small side trip early next month to plan, a house to sell, a garage sale to hold, a few random work ideas to investigate, and a reading pile that is growing by the day...busy, but pleasant, times. Have a great week

Stunning photographs by Shelli Breidenbach.
Maurie & Eve's Belle Tux Shirt.
Distraction, a perfect pink for one's nails.
A pretty vignette from Lonny's August issue.
Let Love necklace from Betsy & Iya a wonderful Portland jeweller.

Follow Studio's lovely custom stamps.

A floral explosion...
I hope your week is off to a stellar start. I'm off for a long overdue riding lesson, be back later today with an even longer overdue what:nots.

...
Apologies for the lack of posting. I've been sidelined by a rather nasty cold. Ugh. Not what one expects mid summer. However, I appear to be on the mend. So fingers crossed I'll be back to posting in a few days.

A little over...
... 24 hours ago this was my view! I first visited the Rarontonga ten years ago, and each time I've returned it's pretty much just the same. Slow, idyllic pace of life, nothing much has changing from year to year. Pretty perfect really. My Granny Jean used to visit in the 70s, and I think it's pretty much the same as when she was there, give or take the odd new building. All low rise and basic mind you. It's hard to buy land here, perhaps that's why it's remained so untouched. And until recently even groceries or fresh milk were hard to come by. Nice to know that in parts of the world life remains the same as it always has...slow, quiet, and relatively untouched...
